Student of the Month- Education Professions
Meet Deb Dewees, a senior from Edinburgh and second year student in our Education Professions program. She's an active member of both the cheer team and the band, where she plays the flute- making her the only student at EHS to participate in both!
During her field experience at East Side Elementary, Deb serves as a cadet teacher in Mrs. Newport's fourth grade classroom, where she helps with a variety of classroom tasks and even creates and teaches standards-based lesson plans. Mrs. Newell, C4 Education Professions teacher, describes Deb as "a wonderful, hardworking, and dedicated student" who is a great role model for younger students.
Deb is proud of earning her CPR certification and is planning to attend college to become an elementary school teacher- a goal inspired by her eighth grade Spanish teacher.
