The Lorin A. Burt Award is the highest award that the Indiana School Boards Association awards yearly to one recipient. The recipient has "made a significant contribution to Indiana public education or to education in his/her community through meritorious service in roles that may include but not limited to that of teacher, administrator, college professor, or other comparable educator roles". Dr. Halik has been a teacher, administrator, and college professor in Johnson County for over 50 years. Dr. Halik was nominated by the Edinburgh School Board in June 2025.
Join me in congratulating Dr. Halik for this prestigious award. We are so fortunate to have him as our Superintendent!
